Brain Booster is a free educational web application designed to help children in Grades K–8 practise for CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) and SAGES (Screening Assessment for Gifted Elementary and Middle School Students) gifted programme assessments. The Service is operated by Brain Booster ("we", "us", or "our").
Brain Booster is an independent practice tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially associated with Riverside Insights (publisher of the CogAT) or PRO-ED Inc. (publisher of the SAGES). CogAT® is a registered trademark of Riverside Insights.
The Service is intended for use by parents and guardians of children in Grades K–8. By creating an account, you confirm that:
Children do not create their own accounts. All access for children is managed through a parent or guardian account.
Brain Booster is provided for educational and informational purposes only. The practice questions, grade-level content, scoring guidance, and articles on this site are designed to help children become familiar with the reasoning question types used in gifted assessments. They are not official test materials and do not constitute a guarantee of improved test performance or gifted programme entry.
All information provided on bboostapp.com — including articles about CogAT and SAGES scoring, preparation timelines, and gifted programme thresholds — reflects our best understanding based on publicly available information. Score thresholds and identification criteria vary significantly by school district. We strongly recommend confirming your specific district's requirements directly with your school.
You agree to use the Service only for its intended educational purpose and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used inappropriately.
All content on the Service — including but not limited to practice questions, explanations, articles, graphics, icons, and the Brain Booster fox mascot — is owned by or licensed to Brain Booster and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial, educational use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
Brain Booster is free to use and is supported by contextual advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisements are displayed to parents and guardians only — never to children during their practice sessions. All advertising uses child-directed treatment flags (TFCD/TFUA) in compliance with COPPA. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
The Service uses third-party providers including Google Firebase (authentication and data storage), Google AdSense (advertising), Google Fonts, and Vercel (hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party providers.
The Service may contain links to external websites for reference purposes (such as published research papers and official assessment publisher pages). These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of external sites.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Brain Booster shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or disappointment with test outcomes.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. As the Service is currently provided free of charge, this amount is zero.
We take children's privacy seriously. Our practices regarding the collection and use of information relating to children are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). In summary: children do not create their own accounts, we collect only a first name and grade level for child profiles, and no personal information from children is shared with advertisers.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Brain Booster operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
